Today Credit Crisis

I have one question to you all. With Bank of America buying up these companies.   Is our Goverment $Backing$ Bank of America in these takeovers without us knowing about it?? What are your thoughts...

Comments

I say "no" and hold on to your hat because you're going to see more change and more bank failures.  Is it possible for America to go bankrupt?

I don't know but letting these companies roll the dice for far to long is coming home to rest.

Paula... I never thought of that.. thanks for bringing it to my attention.  As I am commenting, I am wondering..is the government behind this?

Well lets look at it this way. The Goverment cannot be bailing everyone out. Number One, Tax papers would screem, and number 2 then they would be owning the biggest finance companies in the US, OOPS that would be a monoply and we can't have that.. and besides they already have enough of my money and they also decide how i spend it enough...So if they can do it without actually saying they are doing it. They can have control and us not know it...mmmmm what a thought...

It appears that BOA has a strong position to take over Countrywide and Merill Lynch. They were weak in residential lending during the boom and focused more on commercial lending which kept them out of the current meltdown. Could be that they were smart enough to capitalize on this financial crisis. Not every bank followed the lemmings.

Yes I think that the government is faccilitating these buyouts. Bank of America seems to be the bank of choice along with JP Morgan.  Your right BOA can't have all that money I mean for crying out loud less than a year ago they just bought out Countrywide.  As for putting your money in a mattress...why not keep a few grand in cash in your home.  If your bank goes down it will most likely happen on a weekend. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Well the one thing I can say, I do believe it will be the small businesses of America that is going to bail us out of the crisis. Because the big guys got to big for their pants for sure...
