Why can't the politicians in this country see where the problem really is. If they would take the money and suppliment the fuel costs then we would be ok. People could afford to stay in there homes and buy food and utilities. I really don't understand why they cannot see that it starts with the common consumer and ends with the common consumer.. Lower Fuel Costs and we can afford for to keep spending on our homes and walmart or whatever.. This just make me so mad...Businesses are losing hundreds of dollars everyday because the money has to be put in fuel instead of what it needs to be spent on like payroll creating layoffs..I wish someone would see this. Supplement the oil companies and lower the fuel prices and we will be fine...Mad at our politicians...Paula

The problem is really simplier than you are posting . STOP wasteful government spending. You saw the price of fuel go up big time in the last couple of 7 days because the bail out devalues our currency. So more spending (i.e. a suplliment will have just the opposite effect . We need to get spending in check so that we can have a stronger dollar which then buys oil cheaper. Then we need to close the loop hole in the Enron bill that allows speculators to drive up oil prices. If we do those 2 things you will see oil around 70 a barrell and gas between 2.50 and 3,00. This will give us the breathing room to get off fossils fuels
Ok if it is so simple then why won't our goverment do it. Because Lord have mercy that any of our politicians would have to live One day the way you and I do. I am aginst this completely. All they are doing is putting on a bandaid. As long as these politicians can support themselfs and keep the rich rich that is what they are going to do.. I am not happy with any of this and I think they are not even considering the common consumer in any of this. They are not looking at us in anyway shape or form.
