Hello 2009...but we are a long way to seeing a recovery. Life goes on, we will get more listings that we otherwise would get. God willing we will be in recovery in 2010. This is not a time to be optimistic with your money; it is a time to be very smart and be very prepared. We have a second wave of 5 year adjustables hitting the west coast with negative am mortgages. If they can survive the next hit, it may not be so bad. Odds are not looking good as many are 30-40% upside down. This will trickle throughout the world. Sad time in our lives, but the world always turns.
It's funny that a lot of people that I talk with are so happy Christmas is over and are looking forward to 2009. Not sure how the year will be put people are ready.
I am looking forward to 2009 as there are many people looking to make a move, and I want to help them get where they need to be.
I can't say 2008 was really that bad for my business. My business was up from 2007 and I maintained my commission scale. Dollar volume and number of units were up but average sales price was down! It was a difficult year in the aspect of managing many of the transactions but my last deal was very very smooth to end with a nice new client. The client's parents asked for one of my magnet calendar for the year! Maybe a listing? 2009 will be a challenge! Good luck and nice post.
